Daniel Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt Royal Rumble match, Gets a New Stipulation

This week’s Friday Night SmackDown opened with a promo from Kane, who was decked in out in his full ring gear and red mask. The Knox County Mayor and former WWE Champion cut a promo about the Royal Rumble being just nine nights away and the importance the match can have for whoever wins it before announcing he would take part in the Men’s Rumble match.

It wasn’t long however until he was interrupted by Bray Wyatt, who pointed to the picture of Kane hanging up inside the Firefly Fun House. Wyatt said he’d never forget the rivalry he and Kane had (cutting to images from their feud back in 2013.)

The Planet’s Champion was gone. The Leader of the Yes Movement was back but had a pretty nasty streak in him that resembled his time as ROH”s American Dragon. Unlike many who have been targeted by him, Bryan has begun to take the fight to the Universal Champion, sending him running on a few occasions.

Daniel Bryan may have lost his Universal Championship bout against The Fiend at Survivor Series, but that hasn’t stopped him from continuing his war. After appearing at TLC with a fresh new look and attitude, it seems The Fiend may have “healed” the GOAT more than “hurt”. Bryan continued to one-up The Fiend tonight.

Using his long-time friend Kane, he managed to lure the Universal Champion out to the ring, where he took the fight to him. Kane, declaring for the Royal Rumble, was the perfect bait that Wyatt’s alter ego just could not pass up.

The Fiend will now defend his Universal title against Bryan in a strap match at the pay-per-view. The stipulation was set up by a challenge that was issued by Bryan on tonight’s SmackDown. Tonight’s show opened with an appearance by Kane. As he was cutting a promo about the Royal Rumble, he was interrupted by Bray Wyatt on the video screen.

The segment led to the lights going out and The Fiend coming through the ring and trying to attack Kane. But it was revealed that Kane and Bryan had set a trap for The Fiend. Kane (who was now outside of the ring) asked The Fiend what took so long. Bryan then ambushed The Fiend and hit him with the running knee. He tried to fight with The Fiend, but The Fiend escaped back through the ring. Bryan pulled out one of The Fiend’s dreadlocks as he escaped.
